Measuring and managing company performance is drawing more and more attention not only in the private but also in the public sector. The article presents a methodology for evaluating the performance of a municipal company with respect to the specifics ofthose companies whose aim is to provide public services. A real study evaluating the performance of a particular company in comparison with a suitable set of comparable transport companies is presented.
