DIFFERENT GENERATIONS IN THE LABOR MARKET – IMPLICATIONS FOR THE WORKPLACE: THE CASE OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Original language description
The issue of generations (generation groups), namely the focus on their characteristics and the current and future impact on business practice, is a key factor for business management due to diversity of generations. This issue is aimed at analyzing the current and future trend of the development of generational groups in the Czech Republic in terms of their characteristics and demographic development. The first part of the thesis is theoretically defined the issues of demographic development and generation groups, including their often different time anchoring and characteristics. In the next part of the paper, on the basis of statistical data, the situation on the labor market in the Czech Republic with a focus on individual generations is characterized. In addition, the population analyzes the population development with the presentation of 5 and 10 years of future development trend. In the following section, the economically active generation groups (generation Baby Boomers, X, Y, Z) are now being redefined and characterized. In the end, there are possible threats (alternating generation groups, occupying higher positions, similar generations) or opportunities (unique diversity) that companies should take into account in their business practices. There are also three areas (evaluation system, communication and mentoring) where the author presents the possible management of business processes and their limitation.
