    Features of Employees' Perception of Toxic Factors of the Workplace Depending on the Degree of their Emotional Burnout

    The paper is devoted to the problem of a toxic workplace and the examination of its effect on the emotional burnout of employees. The purpose of this study is to reveal the peculiar properties of the attitude of workers with varying degrees of burnout syndrome to organizational toxins, the combination of which forms the phenomenon of social pollution of the company internal environment. In an empirical study conducted by the authors in 2019, 170 people took part. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the authors used following qualitative and quantitative methods: a diagnostic questionnaire for studying burnout, a written narrative analysis, as well as an authors’ questionnaire designed to identify the degree of workplace toxicity at Russian companies. The study results show that the occurrence of burnout is associated not only with the presence of toxins in the workplace, but also with the personality interpretation of the work situation. Further areas of toxic workplace research are the development of organizational measures of prophylaxis and prevention the adverse effects of toxic management on personnel. Particular attention will be paid to the analysis of the personal characteristics of employees, allowing them to be resistant to organizational toxins, or, on the contrary, to show increased sensitivity to them.
