This monograph deals with social media use in various areas of society and trust in social media in the context of the Visegrad countries. It presents and discusses major findings of the international research survey conducted within a one-year project which was undertaken by an international team of researchers from V4 universities. The main purpose of the research was to provide an analytical overview and cross-country comparison of the current state of social media use in various areas of society. Another aim of this research was to investigate whether social media users from V4 countries trust social media. Therefore, in conducting this research survey, both quantitative and qualitative approaches were adopted. The quantitative approach comprises the questionnaire survey while the qualitative approach comprises focus groups, educational scenarios, content analysis and desk research. The monograph maps the ICT background and ICT education in the V4 countries and analyses social media use in selected areas of life. It also contributes to the existing literature and knowledge about trust in social media.
