    Human Resources Development and Continuing Vocational Training: Comparison Czech Republic and Germany

    Digital transformation changes the economy and society, and makes significant changes in people’s lives. Human resources development is one of the basic prerequisites for the successful digital transformation. The research study is divided into two parts. In the first part EU countries are compared in selected indicators and the Gross Domestic Product per capita is used as the key performance indicator. Specifically, the comparison is focused on the Czech Republic and Germany. The second part investigates the extent to which employee training in the Czech and German enterprises pays attention to the development of critical skills for employees. Data from the European enterprise survey Continuing vocational training CVTS 6 were used for quantitative analysis. The findings show, that there are some consistencies in the overall provision of continuing vocational training, in assessing future skill needs and in the identification of the most important future skills. However, differences in enterprises ´actions to address future skill needs and in skills targeting by CVT courses were found. The findings are important for decision-makers and business leaders who are responsible for people&apos;s transformation in the context of digital transformation
