  • Original language description

    The design of superhard nanostructured coatings requires a perfect understanding of structure-properties relations in materials. This paper shows that there is a strong correlation between the film structure and its hardness. Both these parameters can becontrolled by the energy delivered to the film during its formation. Trends interrelating physical properties with the grain size dependent phenomena in nanostructured films are outlined.
