    Selection of Optimum Type FEM Model for Hybrid Composite Structure

  • Original language description

    This paper deals with finding of optimum numerical model for specific hybrid composite structure. The specimen under investigation consisted of two unidirectional composite beams bonded together with a rubber layer. Several different modelling methods were considered using Finite Element Method (FEM) software MSC Marc 2008r1. The work was based on the 3-point bending test of a simple specimen. The experimentally obtained bending stiffness was compared with the result of each FE analysis. Furthermore, the possibility of analytical solution was proven, when the Theory of Laminate Plate and the Theory of Sandwich Plate were used.
