In 2011, a new cooperation between two Czech universities - University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (the Faculty of Applied Sciences) and the Czech Technical University in Prague (the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering) has begun on the development of a computational code for PWR in-core nuclear fuel management. In this talk, we introduce main areas of applied mathematics and nuclear engineering that are brought together under the scope of this project.
