Numerical and experimental solution of sound radiation by circular plate
Original language description
Many acoustics problems can be solved as problems of continuum mechanics. Acoustics problems are described by one or more partial differential equations (PDE) in such a case. A given PDE or set of PDE's can be rarely solved analytically, thus a numericalmethod is usually used. In the following paper the using of finite different methods (FDM) is demonstrated on an example of a vibrating circular plate radiating noise. The plate is considered rigid body although it deforms because of excitation force. Therefore four similar approaches are used to compensate mentioned fact in model. The solutions of the mentioned problem is compared with an experiment and advantages and disadvantages of FDM are discussed.
