Original language description
The paper deals with Automatic Face Recognition (AFR) using the Gabor wavelet transform. Adaptations of the Kepenecki face recognition approach are proposed. First, we experimentally determine the optimal values of the crucial parameters of this method.Another adaptation is using more training images for each individual to create the face representation. The performance of the adapted method is evaluated on three datasets: ORL database, Stirling database and Czech News Agency (CTK) database. Experiments confirm that the proposed modifications significantly improve recognition rate and robustness of the algorithm on the ORL and CTK datasets. The last contribution is the creation of new face corpus from the real CTK data.
