Modelling of the smooth muscle and Cajal's cells communication in the bladder wall

  • Original language description

To model the pathological events in the lower part of urinary tract like the overactive bladder (OAB) and detrusor overactivity (DO) seems to be necessary to take in to account all cellular types present in the detrusor tissue. Besides the smooth musclecells (SMC) there are here the interstitial cells of Cajal. According to the last investigations the ICC are involved in the spontaneous contractile activity during filling. They communicate with the nerves and are connected via gap junctions with the SMC. In contribution the mathematical models of SMC and ICC are introduced and models of their connection are suggested. The properties of the whole model consisting from ICC, SMC are analyzed and compared with the published experimental results.
