Analysis of Possible Speedup of the Microscopic Road Traffic Simulation using Aggregate Movement of Vehicles
Original language description
In this paper, we describe the microscopic/nanoscopic Parallel/Distributed Hybrid Urban Traffic Simulator (P/D-HUTS), which is currently under development. The P/D-HUTS system incorporates three different microscopic traffic models for the simulation within the traffic lanes and a nanoscopic traffic model for a more detailed simulation within the crossroads. In the description, we are focusing mainly on the microscopic simulation utilized in the P/D-HUTS system. We discuss the possibility of the speedupof the simulation using the aggregate movement of the particular vehicles in the traffic lanes. The aggregate movement can be used in all three traffic models, which are at our disposal.
