Usability of macroscopic and mesoscopic road traffic simulations in division of traffic networks for distributed microscopic simulation
Original language description
This paper is focused on problematic of traffic network division for microscopic distributed simulation of road traffic. In order to ensure load-balancing, the division must be performed with respect to the number of vehicles in traffic lanes. This information can be used as weights of the traffic lanes. However, these weights cannot be easily obtained from sequential runs of the detailed simulation. Nevertheless, it is possible to use a less-detailed simulation for calculation of the weights. The usability of two types of less detailed simulations ? the mesoscopic and macroscopic simulations ? for assigning of the weights to the traffic lanes is the main theme of this paper.
