Comparison of critical buckle load for composite strip in case of experiment and numerical simulation.

  • Original language description

Presented work deals with an experimental and a numerical analysis of a double clamped buckle composite beam. Specimens consisted of a carbon and a glass fibre composite with different composite layups were tested. The numerical model was created parametrically using programming language Python and finite element system Abaqus 6.12. The shell elements were used in simulations. Critical buckle loads evaluated from experiments and numerical simulations were compared in order to investigate the capabilityof the software to simulate the loss of stability.
