The mathematical model of the Shallow Water Equations belongs to the free surface flows with the source terms. The classical source terms are the bed slope source term and the bed friction term. The numerical simulations suffer from the lack of the computer precision when the water depth approaches zero at the wet/dry interface. The present talk discusses these problems and their solutions.
