Multiscale modeling of ionic transport in deformable porous media
Original language description
The electrokinetic phenomena, such as the electroosmotic mechanism, can influence fluid flow through porous media. They occur due to the electric double layer which is formed by interaction between charged solid-fluid interface and ionized solution. The presented work study the ionic transport in the deformable porous structure saturated by an electrolyte solution and the effect of occurring electro-osmotic phenomena. The mathematical model of this phenomena is derived using periodic homogenization method. It is developed with regard to the modeling of cortical bone tissue, but similar approach can be applied on other biological tissues or in geoscience.
