Locomotive position and speed estimation in post-processing mode
Original language description
The paper deals with the problem of position estimation of a locomotive along a track based on relative and absolute sensors. The relative sensors are represented by an incremental optical rotary encoder, Doppler radar and accelerometer whereas the absolute position sensor detects proximity of tags along the track. A recursive post-processing methodology is proposed to compute high quality estimates of locomotive position that could subsequently be used as ground truth for evaluating the quality of other means of positioning such as global satellite navigation satellite systems.
