Computational and experimental investigation of rotor dynamics with fluid film instabilities
Original language description
A development of high-speed rotation systems with fluid-film bearings and their reliable operation requires both prediction of a wider range of parameters and deeper understanding of basic fluid-induced effects. Both experimental and computational methods are essential during this process. A test rig for investigation of fluid-induced instabilities is introduced and its mechanical propersties and parameters are described in the article and a methodology for computational investigation of dynamics of unstable high-speed rotors is summarized.
