Analysis of Spinopelvic Fixation Techniques for Mechanical Stabilisation of Sacral Bone Injuries
Original language description
Several variations of spinopelvic fixation techniques are investigated and compared. The computational prediction of displacements of fractured pelvic bone segments is performed using an experimentally verified numerical model. The model focuses on mechanical response of the pelvic ring and the last two lumbar vertebrae to physiological loading. The effect of soft tissue structures such as muscles and ligaments supporting lumbar spine is not reflected. The results indicate benefits of application of spinopelvic fixation with a cross-link transverse connector and/or with an additional iliosacral screw fixation.
