Original language description
Donor selection is one of the key factor influencing the outcome of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). The donor is being selected based on a Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) match followed by other non-immunogenetic and immunogenetic parameters mostly based on Killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR). KIR-HLA interaction regulates the function of natural killer cells (most critical cells in the early post-transplant period) and it is rationally considered as the next parameter for donor selection. An analytical pipeline that will enable a quick and easy assessment of the KIR-HLA level interactionis therefore desirable. In this paper is introduced pipeline used for initial study to discover the main issues appearing in data processing and considerations in clinical evaluation.
