Original language description
The closed form solution of the non-linear estimation problem is restricted to a few simple cases so that numerical approximative approaches have to be used to solve the problem. The paper deals with an application of Sequential Monte Carlo methods in thfield of state estimation of non-Gaussian and non-linear systems. The attention is focused on using "Sequential Importance Sampling" and "Sequential Importance Sampling with Resampling". The application of the algorithm is demonstrated on an example.
