<<A>> study of residual stresses in arteries using a composite model of soft tissues
Original language description
This study proposes a constitutive model of arterial walls taking into account smooth muscle contraction and laminar elastin. Based on the assumption of the uniform circumferential stress, solving the inverse problem, we can predict residual strains in elastic fibres. We consider three kinds of arterial prestraining: - residual strains in the isotropic "matrix" elastin, prestraining of fibres which form circumferential elastic lamelae and effects of the muscular tone.
