Introduction and aims: The nursing process is the basic method of nursing care. Its implementation ensures provision of such nursing care in which all elements of holistic nursing are respected. The aim of the contribution is to provide information of national research focused on ascertainment of implementation of nursing process and its level in Czech health care and health and social care ward institutions. Results of the first part of the research will be presented, which was focused on mapping the situation with regard to introduction of the nursing process in the above mentioned institutions. Material, methodology and research sets: 282 state and non-state institutions of health care and health and social care character in the Czech Republic wereincluded in the research, i.e. 13 teaching hospitals, 135 hospitals, 59 sanatoriums, 32 old people's homes, 39 health care institutions of other type and 4 health and social care institutions of other type. Představení a cíle: Ošetřovací proces je základní metodou ošetřovatelské péče. Jeho implementace zajišťuje poskytování takové oš. péče, ve které budou dodrženy všechny elementy holistického ošetřovatelství. Cílem příspěvku je poskytnout informace národního výzkumu zaměřeného na zjištění implementace oš. procesu a jeho úrovně v českém zdravotnictví a v institucích sociální péče. Část prezentace je zaměřená na zmapování situace ohledně zavádění oš.procesu ve výše zmíněných institucích. 282 státních a nestátních zdravotnických i sociálních institucí bylo zařazeno do výzkumu, např. 13 tech.nemocnic, 135 nemocnic, 59 sanatorií, 32 domovů důchodců, 39 zdravotnických institucí a 4 zdravotnické a sociální instituce jiného typu. Respondenti byli vedoucí pracovníci jednotlivých institucí. Pro sběr dat byla použita dotazníková metoda. Výsledek: Oš. proces je implementován ve 184 (což je 65,2%) zkoumaných institucích.
