Original language description
The dynamics of current development reflected in various areas of life in modern societies bring with them many new challenges in the political, economic, social, cultural, massmedia and many other spheres. One of the fundamental challenges associated with new perspectives for the further development of society, informations and the economy is the concept of the knowledge society and the knowledge economy. In the long term, the European Union seeks model to adapt its internal structures to these challenges in its internal space. In the conditions of the European Union, as well as the Slovak Republic, we can currently observe an interesting process of gradual creation of the model of the knowledge society and the knowledge economy. At the core of this process is the emphasis on the social and economic importance and value of new knowledge as a key factor shifting the development of social and economic structures towards better, more organized and more efficient forms. The focus is not only on knowledge, but especially on its holders, mainly qualified professionals and specialists. The transformation of social and economic structures into a functional model of the knowledge society and knowledge economy is also linked to the need to implement reforms of the education system, especially in terms of increasing the level and quality of education provided and linking education to the needs of practice. Several European countries are gradually implementing relatively fundamental reforms in their education systems, with an emphasis on the use of new innovative approaches in the various levels and forms of education, including the lifelong learning system. These processes are currently significantly influenced by the reflection and experience of the implementation of education during the culmination of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was during this period that the individual components of the education system were influenced by the need to look for new possibilities and a more significant use of modern information technologies in everyday educational practice. The reflection of the given period shows that within the educational process it is possible to use the whole spectrum of modern innovative approaches and methods of education, which not only offer new possibilities, but also have their limits and limitations. In this context, it is necessary to approach their implementation in a selective and efficient and effective way, to combine and vary them in order to achieve the set goals and educational outcomes. The presented paper will focus on the evaluation of the current state of the level, quality and efficiency of the education system in the conditions of the Slovak Republic in the context of the reflection of the implemented concept of the education system reform.
