TEFE Framework for the Internationalisation of Teaching Practice and Employability
Original language description
The TEFE Framework for the Internationalisation of Teaching Practice and Employability (TEFE Framework) emerged from a collaborative effort spanning three years, involving six European universities: University of South Bohemia (USB) – the coordinating institution, and Aston University, Birmingham (UK), Comenius University in Bratislava (SK), Jagiellonian University in Krakow (PL), Public University of Navarra, Pamplona (SP), and University of Passau (GE). The publication summarises the findings of data collection undertaken across the TEFE partner institutions, focusing on internationalising teaching practice as a standard part of teacher education. With a primary focus on teacher education, this framework offers a comparative perspective, mapping out the landscape of international teaching practice activities across the TEFE consortium. It serves as a comprehensive guide for integrating international perspectives into teaching practice and developing essential competences among future teachers of English. By delineating key employability competences through a conceptual model, the publication provides guidance for individuals and institutions in enhancing competency development within English language education. As a methodological tool, the TEFE roadmap for internationalisation within teacher education programmes emphasises both institutional and individual commitment, empowering student teachers to excel in diverse teaching environments. By equipping prospective teachers with the necessary competences, the TEFE Framework paves the way for enhanced global employability and sustained teaching professionalism within an increasingly interconnected world.
