Zdeněk Lorenc et ses traductions de la littérature française
Original language description
The translation activity of the Czech surrealist poet and writer Zdeněk Lorenc has been a part of Czech literature and Czech-French artistic relations for at least six decades and proves, among other things, his interest in the works of French writers and French art in general. Lorenc first made Tristan Tzara's work available in the Czech environment secretly in the 1940s for his friends. Later, he introduced it to a wider readership, especially in the 1960s and, posthumously, at the beginning of the 21st century. Lorenc's mediating work provides a remarkable picture of Tzara's reception and reflection in the Czech context.
