The study was aimedat the evaluation of spelt weat (Triticum spelta L.) sprouting. For testing we used five spelt wheat varieties, Lueg, Ostro, Altgold, Rouquin, Oberkulmerschwarzer, from two lacalities (České Budějovice and Humpolec), in the years 1999and 2000. On the control site in České Budějovice we used wheat variety Brea in the year 2000. The method used for the determination of sprouting comprises two indirect methods, namely the method for ear bunches and method of wet chamber. The evaluation was facilititated by usingan evaluation scale ranging from 0-5 and expressing 16 different degrees for sprouting. The material was tested in two subsequent cycles (1.-during the harvest; 2.-after 7 days of storing under laboratory conditions).
