At submontaine region of the Sumava mountains we were studiing in the years 1996 - 2000 applying of suitable grass and clover species and varieties in temporary pastures by their exploitation by beef cattle breed (Hereford). According to verification ofacollection of early, middle and late maturity mixtures (all together 16 vars.) the best combination from the phytocenologic and productive points of view, seems to be an (1) early maturity mixture with dominant Dactylis glomerata ,Niva´; (2) a midd le early mixture with dominant Festulolium ,Hykor´; (3) a late mixture with dominant Lolium perenne ,Mustang´. During 4 years exploitation period give the presented mixtures mean yield of 7,70 # 0,30 t . ha-1 of effective grazed pasture biomase (primary production minus remaining biomase after grazing). The best of all mixtures is grazed a late maturity mixture (3), where is the rate of remaining biomass 11,6 %.
