Titanium and plants - the centenary story
Original language description
In despite of more than one hundred years ago was approved that most of plants grown on soil contain some Ti in their body (typically ppm concentrations) and were proposed several explanations for these interesting biological effects of Ti on plants, this phenomenon was not comfortable clarified. Application of titanium by sprayed on the leaf showed interesting major effect on plant, beneficial at low concentration and toxic at higher ones. We proposed a new theory based on an effect called hormesis. The above mentioned effects and theories are discussed.
