    Some mushroom species, mainly from genera Agaricus, Macrolepiota, Lepista and Calocybe accumulate a high content of cadmium and mercury even in unpolluted sites. Current knowledge of the chemical forms of the metals bound in mushrooms is limited, as aredata on their bioavailability in man.

    Některé druhy jedlých hub, zejména z rodů žampion, bedla, čirůvka a pýchavka, kumulují vysoké obsahy kadmia a rtuti, a to i v neznečistěných lokalitách. Soudobé poznatky o chemických formách těchto kovů v houbách jsou jen omezené, stejně jako o jejich absorbci z trávicího traktu člověka.
