Original language description
The influence of polymorhism of the DGAT1 lysine232alanine locus on the breeding values of German Holstein Sires born in 1993 (n = 66), and 1998 / 1999 (n = 91) was analysed. The lysine variant of DGAT1 gene affected positively the fat percentage and yield, and alanine variant the milk and protein yield. According to breeding values of LA genotype sires in the younger group, the intermediary heredity is possible. Based on our analyses and repeated results of other authors, the locus of DGAT1 is of greatsignificance in breeding.

Czech description
Analyzovali jsme vliv polymorfních variant v lokusu DGAT1 lysin232alanin na plemenné hodnoty býků narozených v letech 1993 (n = 61) a 1998/1999 (n = 91). Lysinová varianta genu DGAT1 pozitivně ovlivňovala plemennou hodnotu pro obsah a produkci tuku, alaninová varianta byla spojena s nárůstem PH pro produkci mléka a bílkovin. Na základě plemenných hodnot mladých býků s genotypem LA lze usoudit na možnou intermediární dědičnost. Na základě naší analýzy a podle opakovaných výsledků dalších autorů lze odvozovat vysoký význam lokusu DGAT1 pro šlechtění skotu.
