The quality management system and its application in enterprises is lately appearing to be one of the important competitive advantages. However, effective quality management system is not just about quality outputs, but also about the application of certain principles of quality to the management system of the whole enterprise.This article deals with the implementation and the current quality management system in three selected companies. It is focused mainly on identifying the strengths and weaknesses associated with quality management that occur consistently across all of the companies under review. Identified strengths and weaknesses are analyzed. On the basis of the information found, proposals are made for a general streamlining of quality management that can be applied in different businesses, regardless of their size or focus.
