This dissertation discusses destination branding and the factors that affect the successful branding ofdestinations. The topic of interest is identifying the most effective and successful factors of destination branding andevaluating their links. The most effective combination of branding factors for destination management is another topic ofthe research. The key research question is whether successful branding strengthens and stabilises the destination in timesof growth as well as times of crisis. The thesis also proposes the most effective combination of destination brandingfactors. Austria is used as an example of the importance of destination branding in overcoming the pandemic crisis in theyears 2020 - 2021.
