The study presents some of the results of a study carried out in 2023. The aim of the study was to find out how business students perceive their own soft skills and how well they feel they meet the expectations of their employers. The research was conducted in several countries (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia, Kazakhstan). The study presents the results of Hungarian and Czech young people. The results of the quantitative questionnaire survey show that young people have similar perceptions of the soft skills that employers expect from graduates in the labour market. The results show that Hungarian and Czech students consider teamwork and good communication skills as the most important soft skills expected by employers. At the same time, the results also showed that Hungarian students rated most of the employer’s soft skill requirements as stronger, while at the same time they rated their own soft skills as better than Czech students. © 2025 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
