In the personality of the prominent Czech humanist, protestant preacher guided by principles of ecumenism, publicist, social and charitable worker Přemysl Pitter (1895–1976), we find an inspiring educator striving for the transformation of the human being and humanityas a wholetoward responsible freedom, mutual understanding, and an environmentally friendly lifestyle. A man who, like Sir Nicholas Winton, was actively involved in rescuing children— orphans—during and after World War II, regardless of their nationality. In this context, the presented article provides scholarly insight into the ethical contributions of Přemysl Pitter in integrating environmental and social studies.
