Current state-of-art perspectives in the development of methods of hormonally induced semi-artificial and artificial fish reproduction.
Original language description
In principal, the progress in hormonally induced artificial reproduction of fish proceeds recently in two directions. In the majority of our commercial fish species (common carp, herbivorous fish, wels catfish, African catfish), hypophysation is recentlywidely used. Its keystone is the injection application of homogenised suspension of formerly dehydrated carp pituitaries, collected in fish processing facilities. The dosage is usually done with respect to the weight of dehydrated pituitaries. The application of mammal gonadotropin hormones does not seem to be (with some exceptions for e.g. human gonadotropin HcG) very prospective. However, promising development is noticed in methods of gonadotropin hormones (GtH) purification and the quantification oftheir dosage with respect to their biological efficiency or directly with respect to GtH content. The application of synthetic superactive analogues of gonadotropin hormones - GnRHa - prevailed in past years in some our fish species. They
