All-female and bisexual populations of scaly crossbred line and of mirror purebred common carp were tested under semi-intensive pond management in Central Europe and finished by assessment of their slaughtering value. Weights and rates of various parts of fish body, important biometrical indices and statistical correlations of important parameters were evaluated at three-and at four years of fish age. Even if some differences between results in scaly and mirror carps appeared, the main characteristics were similar for both. After the first trial, significantly higher rate of processed body (57.7 # 1.8% compared with 55.4 # 2.0% in mirror and 56.7 # 1.7% against 55.5 # 1.5% in scaly fish; mean # S.D.), filetting yield with skin (39.0 # 2,0% compared with 37.9 # 2.2% in mirror and 39.5 # 1.8% against 38.6 # 1.7% in scaly fish) and filetting yield without skin (31.2 # 2.0 compared with 30.3 # 2.1% in mirror and 33.3 # 1.8% against 32.2 # 1.6% in scaly fish) were found in both all-female p
