The aim of present study was to contribute to improvement of objectivity of morphologic investigations of thyroid gland in cattle. We used morphometric methods for evaluation size of the follicules and height of follicular cells. Proliferative activity of thyroid epithelial cells was determined by means of PCNA (Proliferating cell nuclear antigen) and AgNOR (Ag nucleolar organising region). It was found high correlation between height of follicular epithelium and size of the follicles and proliferativeactivity of thyroid epithelial cells. The results are summarised in table 1 and 2.
