Doubts about Trypanosoma equiperdum strains classed as Trypanosoma brucei or Trypanosoma evansi

  • Original language description

There is an ambiguity concerning species identity of a number of clinically relevant strains of the above-mentioned Trypanozoon species. We suggest that the species can be assigned only to strains, in which the maxicircle and minicircle kinetoplast DNA has been characterized.

Pochybnost o kmenech Trypanosoma equiperdum klasifikovaných jako Trypanosoma brucei nebo Trypanosoma evansi

  • Czech description

Není shoda ohledně druhové příslušnosti řady klinicky významných kmenů, řazených v současnosti do druhů T. brucei, T. equiperdum a T. evansi z rodu Trypanozoon. Navrhujeme, aby byla druhová klasifikace prováděna pouze na základě charakterizace maxikroužkové a minikroužkové kinetoplastové DNA.
