New data on the morphology of Nilonema senticosum (Nematoda, Philometridae), a parasite of Arapaima gigas (Pisces), with notes on another philometrid, Alinema amazonicum, in Peru

  • Original language description

Scanning electron microscopical examination of female specimens of a little-known nematode Nilonema senticosum from Arapaima gigas from the Amazon River basin (Iquitos) in Peru made it possible to reveal some new taxonomically important features. The same method used for Alinema amazonicum, a parasite of catfishes Calophysus macropterus and Brachyplatystoma juruense (a new host record) from the same basin in Peru enabled to study in detail the male cephalic and caudal structures.

Nové údaje o morfologii Nilonema senticosum (Nematoda, Philometridae), parazita Arapaima gigas (Pisces), s poznámkami o další filometře, Alinema amazonicum, v Peru

  • Czech description

tudium samičích exemplářů málo známé hlístice Nilonema senticosum z Arapaima gigas z povodí Amazonky (Iquitos) v Peru umožnilo zjistit některé nové taxonomicky důležité znaky. Použití téže metody pro Alinema amazonicum, parazita sumců Calophysus macropterus a Brachyplatystoma juruense (nový hostitel) ze stejného povodí v Peru umožnilo detailní studium hlavových a kaudálních struktur u samce.
