Females of the coccinellid C. sexmaculata avoided oviposition on substrates with fresh tracks of conspecific, C. limbifer and C. undecimnotata first instars. Effects of tracks of H. dimidiata larvae were not statistically significant. Ten days old tracksof C. sexmaculata larvae deterred conspecific females also. Clutch sizes in tests with contaminated substrates were larger than in blank test with clean substrates. Experiments indicate that conspecific and heterospecific semiochemicals in tracks of coccinellid first instars can contribute to the spacing of eggs by C. sexmaculata females among aphid colonies of differing quality and increase clutch sizes.

Vnitrodruhové a mezidruhové působení kladení odpuzujících stop larev na Cheilomenes sexmaculata (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)

Czech description

Samice slunéčka C. sexmaculata se vyhýbaly kladení na substráty s čerstvými stopami prvních instarů vlastního druhu, C. limbifer a C. undecimnotata. Účinek stop larev H. dimidiata nebyl statisticky průkazný. Také deset dní staré stopy larev druhu C. sexmaculata odpuzovaly samice od kladení. Velikost jednotlivých snůšek byla v testech s kontaminovanými substráty větší než v kontrole s čistými substráty. Výsledky pokusů ukázaly, že semiochemické látky přítomné ve stopách larev prvních instarů vlastního druhu, a také jiných druhů slunéček, mohou snížit intenzitu kladení vajíček druhem C. sexmaculata do kolonií mšic a současně zvětšit velikost snůšek.
