    One new species of the ptyctimous mite Microtritia pinarensis sp. nov. is described from Cuba. Some morphological notes about some known species - Mesotritia maerkeli Sheals, 1965, Mesotritia nova Starý, 1992, Indotritia nuda Mahunka, 1988, Euphthiracarus /Poesia) microseta (Starý, 1993) and Microtritia glabrata Starý, 1993 - are given.
