A simple proof of gillnet saturation
Original language description
Gillnet saturation was assessed between standard (overnight, uninterrupted exposure) and consecutive (half or one hour exposures) sampling in two Czech reservoirs. Consecutive sampling yielded a greater number and biomass of fish compared to standard sampling. Species compositions were comparable between sampling types. Shannon?s diversity indices did not differ significantly between the two sampling approaches, but consecutive exposures showed a trend towards higher index.
