Aphid parasitoids (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiinae) in cultivated and non-cultivated areas of Markazi Province, Iran

  • Original language description

The fauna of aphid parasitoids as well as their diversity and tritrophic (parasitoid-host aphid-host plant) associations in cultivated and non-cultivated area of Markazi province was studied during 20004-2009. Thirty species belonging to 9 genera of Aphidiinae were identified. Lysiphlebus fabarum (Marsh)and Diaeretiella rapae (M ˇInt.) were the most abundant species but in different percentage in both types of areas, Both species differred also in the number of parasitized aphid species, respectively. In the cultivated areas, Sitobion avenae (F.) had the greatest diversity of parasitoids and Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris) in non-cultivated areas, respectively. Significant differences were found between diversity of two ecosystems based on the overall diversity indices , both species diversity and evenness were greater in cultivated ecoystems.
