Langerhans cells (LC) are a type of immune cell that potentially play a role in the transmission of Orthoflavivirus encephalitidis, formerly known as tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), throughout the body. TBEV is a tick-borne virus that, after entering the human body via a tick bite, spreads through the body to the brain, where meningitis can develop.
