Coactivator MBF1 preserves the redox-dependent AP-1 activity during oxidative stress in Drosophila

  • Original language description

MBF1 interacts with a DNA-binding domain of the proto-oncoprotein Jun. MBF1 prevents an oxidative modification of a critical cysteine within this domain and thus preserves the DNA-binding activity of the Jun/Fos dimer (AP-1). In Drosophila the loss of mbf1 compromises a morphogenetic process that depends on AP-1 and shortens the lifetime during oxidative stress. Interaction between MBF1 and Jun points to a new role of coactivators in the protection of transcription factors against oxidative damage

  • Czech name

Koaktivátor MBF1 zachovává redoxně závislou aktivitu AP-1 během oxidativního stresu u Drosophila
