Two new nematode species of Philometra are described from belonid fishes off the Fao coast, Basrah, Persian Gulf, in Iraq: P. strongylurae sp. n. from the subcutaneous tissue, muscles and gills of Strongylura leiura (type host) and S. strongylura, and P.tylosuri sp. n. from the musculature and the subcutaneous tissue of Tylosurus crocodilus. A key to Philometra spp. parasitic in the subcutaneous tissue, fins or musculature of fishes is provided.

Dva nové druhy rodu Philometra (Nematoda: Philometridae) z ryb čeledi Belonidae v Iráku, s klíčem k zástupcům rodu Philometra cizopasícím v podkožní tkáni, ploutvích a svalovině hostitele
Czech description
Z ryb čeledi Belonidae od pobřeží Fao (Basra) u Perského zálivu v Iráku jsou popsány dva nové druhy hlístic rodu Philometra: Ph. strongylurae sp. n. z podkožní tkáně, svaloviny a žaber Strongylura leiura (typový hostitel) a S. strongylura, a Ph. tylosurisp. n. ze svaloviny a podkožní tkáně Tylosurus crocodilus. Je dán klíč k určování zástupců rodu Philometra cizopasících v podkožní tkáni, ploutvích a svalovině ryb.
