Original language description
The aim of the paper is to bring out results of the analysis comparing NATO defence and operations planning with a special focus on identification of capability requirements. The analysis was basically aimed at expression of those capability requirements which are identical for both NATO defence planning and operations planning and which might be also beneficial for optimising the national planning process within the Czech Ministry of Defence. From this perspective the centre of gravity, while conducting the analysis, was aimed at identification of how NATO proceeds to identification of capability requirements and how they provide subsequent capability assessment and evaluation of capability shortfalls. The key finding stemming from the analysis was identification of identical principles based on which respective NATO planning tools are working.
