Original language description
The paper deals with semantic system development based on a database platform. The Oracle 11g, relational database management system (RDBMS) with semantic extensions, was selected as a target platform. The paper introduces our approach to knowledge support in security area. The application topic is familiar to the researchers since they have already developed the first prototype based on another, non-database platform [2]. The paper describes in details steps required for building semantic system basedon scalable database management system. It includes relational database design, physical database creation, security area taxonomy implementation and ontology development. For the whole process only standardized tools available in RDBMS, like StructuredQuery Language, were exploited. Examples of semantic queries implemented in the database will be also presented.
