The Sums of the Series of Reciprocals of Some Quadratic Polynomials
Original language description
This contribution deals with the sums of special reduced harmonic series formed by reciprocals of some quadratic polynomials. The sums of the series of reciprocals of quadratic polynomials (n+a)(n+b), where a,b be non-negative numbers, a<b, are determined by using the telescopic property of the partial sums of these series. All the 45 sums s(a,b) for all a=0,1,...,8 and b=1,2,...,9 rounded to three decimal places are evaluated by using of the basic programming language in the computer algebra system Maple 12 and presented in the form of the table. This contribution can be an inspiration for teachers of mathematics whose are teaching the topic Infinite series or as a subject matter for work with talented students.
